Ally Troha —
that one security person.

Manager, Cyber Defense @ Netskope · Hanover Park, IL

The one who gets pulled into the room when something's on fire, and the one who was already tracking it before anyone asked. I build the processes, automation, and calm that turn a scaling SOC into a predictable one.

About

I fell into security operations and never really left the floor. Since 2018 I've worked across incident response, identity and access management, and vulnerability management — the unglamorous, constant work that keeps an enterprise from becoming a headline.

At Netskope, I helped take the Security Operations Center from a lean, three-person team stretched across every function to a group that automates the equivalent of an extra analyst's workload every week. Now my focus has shifted toward threat and vulnerability management — closing the gap between "we found it" and "we fixed it," at scale.

I'm currently finishing an MBA concentrated in AI strategy, which mostly means I spend evenings arguing with case studies about where AI actually earns its keep in a security program, and where it's just expensive theater.

Netskope

Cyber Defense → Threat & Vulnerability Management

Joined as the team was standing up an in-house SOC from scratch — onboarding tools, building triage processes, and covering 24/7 alerting with a handful of people. Since then, focus has moved into vulnerability management: closing the loop between detection and remediation across a fast-growing cloud security platform.

"We couldn't focus on one thing and then get to the other — we had to do everything at once."
